Perez was born on 21 march 1992 in Hanford, has eight siblings, and is of Mexican origin. He began wrestling in the sixth grade, together with his two brothers, Julian Perez and Silverio Esparza. In his sophomore year of college, Perez, who wrestles for West Hills College Lemoore, was an All-American and regional champion.
