Christopher John Kempczinski was reared in Cincinnati, Ohio, after being born in Boston on 26 September 1968. He is the son of Ann Marie Kempczinski, a primary school teacher at Terrace Park Elementary, and Richard Kempczinski, a professor of surgery and chief of vascular surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical. He went to Indian Hill High School in a Cincinnati suburb. In 1997, Kempczinski received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
