Deiveson Figueiredo Early Life
Figueiredo was born on December 18, 1987, in the Brazilian city of Soure, Pará, which is located on the island of Marajó and is home to wild buffaloes. The local folk wrestling style known as luta marajoara was practiced by his father, a buffalo herder. Francisco, Deiveson’s younger brother is a professional mixed martial artist who competes for the UFC. He was a cowboy who, up until the age of thirteen, worked on an animal farm with his father. He started wrestling around the age of nine, just like his father. He relocated to Belém to finish high school and began capoeira training. When he was sixteen years old and first met Iuri “Marajó” Alcântara, he began training in MMA.

Figueiredo made his professional debut in February 2012 against Aluisio Ferreira, who was also making his debut. By way of first-round submission, he prevailed. With David Silva and Joel Silva being the notable exceptions, Figueiredo competed in his following six fights on the Pará and Maranho MMA circuits, largely against fighters making their professional debuts. Figueiredo was set to return to the ring at Jungle Fight 87 after a seventeen-month absence and faced Antônio de Miranda.
