On January 10, 1949, George Foreman was born in Marshall, Texas and he had six siblings and grew up in Houston. Leroy Moorehead was his real father, but J.D. Foreman raised him, George acknowledged that he had a difficult childhood in his memoirs. At the age of fifteen, he stopped attending school and started robbing people.

 He persuaded his mother to enroll him in Job Corps after a year because he wanted to make a change in his life. He enrolled in Job Corps to pursue his GED while also receiving training as a bricklayer and carpenter. He moved to Pleasanton, California, and there he started boxing training.

With a gold medal in the boxing/heavyweight division at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games, Foreman had a strong start to his boxing career. He overcame Jonas Cepulis, a veteran who was 12 years Foreman’s senior and 29 years old, despite being 10 years older. After winning, Foreman saluted the audience while circling the ring with a US flag in hand. When Foreman turned professional in 1969, he won 13 matches, including 11 knockout victories.

All 12 of Foreman’s fights in 1970 saw him triumph, and the following year, he added seven more knockout victories. Ali knocked Foreman out for the first time by defeating him. After a humiliating defeat from Jimmy Young, Foreman resigned in 1977 without being able to earn another victory.

At the age of 48, George Foreman made his permanent retirement from the sport in 1997. His final record was just five losses and 76 wins (68 knockouts). Both the World Boxing Hall of Fame and the International Boxing Hall of Fame inducted Foreman. According to rankings, he is the eighth-best heavyweight in history of boxing world.
