Jiri Prochazka Early Life
On October 14, 1992, in the south of, Czechoslovakia, Prochazka was born. When Prochazka was 6 years old, his father passed away and he participated in street fights as a teenager, almost regularly. As a result, he finally joined the hooligan organization affiliated with FC Zbrojovka Brno, the neighborhood soccer team of Prochazka, and began participating in organized street battles with groups from other teams.
Before starting high school, Prochazka first became aware of mixed martial arts after a buddy showed him films of Mirko Filipovic and Fedor Emelianenko as well as kickboxer Ramon Dekkers. At the weight of 86.18 kg, Prochazka won the 2011 Czech Muay Thai Association National Championship.

In April 2012, Prochazka made his professional MMA debut for the Gladiator Fighting Championship, which at the time was the biggest event in his native Czech Republic. On December 29, 2017, Prochazka and Karl Albrektsson squared off in the second round of the bantamweight competition at the Rizin Fighting World Grand Prix 2017. At Rizin 11, Prochazka fought Bruno Henrique Cappelozza on July 28, 2018, and the first-round knockout gave him the victory.

On July 11, 2020, he made his promotional debut at UFC 251 against his opponent Volkan Oezdemir, a previous contender for the UFC Light Heavyweight title. On May 7, 2022, at UFC 274, Prochazka was supposed to compete against Glover Teixeira for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.
