Jonathan started his career by co-founding the Bunim-Murray production house with American producer Mary-Ellis Bunim. Since its inception in 1987, they have produced and executive produced several hit reality shows. They gained popularity after the launch of the MTV reality tv show The Real World in 1992. Murray has progressed in the reality show genre amazingly well. Murray and Bunim co-created reality shows such as Love Cruise, Road Rules, Making the Band, and The Challenge. Another successful reality show to his name is The Bad Girls Club on Oxygen’s network. He co-created the Fox tv show The Simple Life. He created and produced the reality feature film The Real Cancun. Murray also created the daytime reality series Starting Over; his niece Hailey appeared in season 1 with her mother. During his career span, he has also worked as an executive producer for several shows. His executive-produced shows are Project runway for cable channel Lifetime, and Keeping up with the Kardashians, further projects on Kardashians include Kourtney and Khloe take Miami previously called titled Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Khloe, and Lamar-all on E! and Kourtney and Kim take New York. He serves voluntarily as a board member for various educational institutions such as Tv Academy Foundation and Institute for shipboard education.
