On November 17, 1944, Lorne Michaels was born to Florence and Henry Abraham Lipowitz. His birthplace is unknown; some accounts claim he was born in Toronto, while others claim he was born on a kibbutz (now Israel), and that his Jewish family moved to Toronto when he was a little child.
