Michael Dammann Eisner is an American businessman and entertainment executive who is known as the CEO of Walt Disney Productions for more than two decades. Prior to Disney, Eisner had served as a President of ‘Paramount Pictures studios from 1976 to 1984. He is also an author of two books and currently owns and chairs Portsmouth F.C., an English Soccer Team.

Michael Eisner Personal Life
Michael Eisner was born to a wealthy Jewish family in Mount Kisco, New York on 7 March 1942. His father Lester Eisner Jr. was a lawyer and regional administrator of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and his mother Margaret was president of Irvington Institute, Hospital. Eisner grew up in Manhattan and attended The Lawrenceville School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Denison University in 1964. He got married to Jane Breckenridge 1967, of Scottish descent. The couple is having three sons including American film and TV director Michael Breckenridge Eisner and CEO of Double E Pictures Eric Eisner.

Eisner began his career by working with networks like NBC and CBS. In 1966, he was hired as an assistant at American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Eisner quickly moved up in the ranks and by the early 1970s, became Vice President for daytime programming. In 1976, he was appointed as Senior Vice President for production and development. Eisner’s skills and qualities rose the ABC from the bottom to the top of the network rating ranks. In 1976, he joined Paramount Pictures as the president and Chief Operating Officer. During this tenure, ‘Paramount Picture produced hit movies including ‘The Star Trek series, ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark, ‘Saturday Night Fever, and ‘Grease’ to name a few.
In 1984, Eisner joined ‘Walt Disney Productions’ to turn the fate of the company which was struggling since 1966. Eisner revitalized Disney and the studio just hit the golden age. He also made on-camera appearances as a host of the show “The Wonderful World of Disney” and came out favorite among the children. Eisner restored the Disney reputation with classic animated movies Beauty and the Beast and ‘The Lion King’.
