Ruth and Sam Guber welcomed their son Peter Guber into the world on March 1, 1941, into a Jewish family in Boston, Massachusetts. In Somerville, Massachusetts, his father ran a salvage operation and he went to Newton North High School and John Ward Elementary School for his early education.
