Sky Brown is a professional skateboarder and surfer. She is a British-Japanese sports personality and she represents Britain in various skateboarding and surfing competitions. Sky Brown is the youngest professional skateboarder in the history of the sport.

Sky Brown grew up in Miyazaki, Japan and US where her father lived. She belongs to a family of skateboarders. As of June 2021, Sky Brown was ranked second in the Olympics World Skateboarding Rankings (Female). Her position as a skateboarder is goofy footed. Initially, Brown started learning skateboarding tricks from YouTube as she didn’t have a mentor. She also practiced with Shaun White. When she was 8 years old, Brown joined the Vans US Open competition. In 2017, she secured a second position at the Asian Continental Finals. In 2018 Vans Park Series, she finished in the top ten list. She also competed and won the US TV show ‘Dancing with the Stars; Juniors’ that same year. In 2019, she was the winner of Simple Session event held in Tallinn, Estonia.

After reaching the decision of representing Britain on national level, Brown secured a third position at the World Skateboarding Championship in 2019. She was the first female to land a front side 540 at the X Games and at the 2022 Park World Skateboarding Championships held in Brazil she secured a third position. In 2021, Sky Brown also qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo. At the age of 13, she became the youngest British Summer Olympian ever. She won a bronze medal at the Olympics and that made her the country’s youngest medalist as well.

And that same year an official announcement was made to display some of Browns’s skateboards at the Young V&A in London. Brown has also won a gold medal at the 2021 X Games women’s skateboarding park. She was also awarded BBC’s ‘Young Sports Personality of the Year’ award in 2021. She was also given the ‘Comeback of the Year’ for her 2021 performance at the Laureus World Sports Award. She won another gold medal at the 2022 X Games women’s skateboarding park. She has won a silver medal at the 2021 Dew Tours and a gold medal at the 2022 Dew Tours.
