Terry Fator is an American ventriloquist, impressionist, stand-up comedian, and great singer. His interest in ventriloquism was from a young age and was a great singer from the start. He started performing with 2 bands but later did solo performances. He combined ventriloquism and singing with comedy. Fator is the winner of the second season of America’s Got Talent. His success made him the highest-paid comedian and gave him a contract to headliner shows in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jephtha Wesley and Edith Marie Clifton welcomed Terry Wayne Fator on June 10, 1965, in Dallas, Texas. He has 2 siblings. Fator’s second cousin was the finalist of America’s Got Talent season six. In fifth grade Factor’s ventriloquism started. He was searching for a book for his assignment on Valentine’s Day, he came across a book on ventriloquism with the title of Ventriloquism for Fun and Profit by Paul Winchell. After this, he started learning about ventriloquism. Some weeks later, he bought Willie Talk dummy and won $25 price for his performance. He got his first ventriloquism dummy when he was 10 years old. In his childhood, he entertained his family and friends. His mother saved money and bought him his first puppet when he turned 18.

Fator was the lead singer of the brand Freedom Jam and took part in performances at over 200 high schools and middle schools across US and Canada. In 1988 he became the lead singer for the band known as Texas the Band and added the puppet to his performance. After the band, he started solo acts but struggled for many years. Once his 1000-seat theatre only had one person which made him discourage but his family encouraged him to pursue it. In 2005, he included impersonations and this proved to be a great decision. He received appreciation from the crowd and did many performances which were a success.

America’s Got Talent:

Fator made his first appearance on the show America’s Got Talent on June 19, 2007. He even shared his experience. When factor went on the stage the judge David Hasselhoff said,” Oh, no, a ventriloquist.” This made him think he had no chance of winning. The judges loved Factor and that led him to the winning of the show. Even the judge Simon Cowell approved, and he even complimented Factor which was a big honour for him.

Post-America’s Got Talent:

After the win, it was announced that the winner must perform at Jubilee Theater at Bally’s Las Vegas for only 15 minutes. This plan was dropped after cooperation with his management team and Bally’s. He performed at Larry Norman’s 60th birthday. On October 15 and 15, 2007, he performed at Las Vegas Hilton, both shows were sold out. He performed many times there and signed a contract of $1.5 million to perform every month from January 2008 till May 2008. He became part of charities in 2007. Factor appeared on, The Oprah Winfrey Show with Simon Cowell. He signed a deal of $100 million to perform nightly in a theatre that was renamed The Terry Fator Theatre. He made many guest appearances on America’s Got Talent and is also the voice behind everyone’s favourite cartoon character Mickey Mouse.

Fator and Melinda met when she started following him while he worked with Texas the Band. They got married on January 8, 1991, but were later divorced after Melinda moved to Texas and filed a divorce in February 2009. Terry met Taylor Makakoa and married her in Las Vegas, but the wedding ceremony was held in Hawaii on November 1, 2010. After 4 years of being together, they ended their marriage. April 2015 was when he met Angela Fiore. His sister hired a caterer to set them up. They began to date and in 2015 he proposed to her in front of his ex-wife.

Charitable Work:

Factor appeared in Montana in July 2007 to raise funds for kid sports Sports Complex. In 2007 he performed for helping the miners in Huntington. In 2008, Fator performed at Palace Theater in Corsicana, Texas which benefited the Navarro Council of the Arts and the Mildred Drama Club. In 2010, he did a doodle for NF and 100% of all the profit went to them. All making of the Fator’s song Horses in Heaven goes to the hospital.

Fator’s first DVD, Terry Fator: Live from Las Vegas was released on September 1, 2009. The DVD shows the footage that was not being broadcasted on CMT.
