On November 5, 1986, Yael Cohen was born into a rich Jewish family. Her father, a South African oil and mining magnate, David Cohen, is a co-founder of two more resource firms in addition to Gold Wheaton Gold Corp. and Northern Orion Resources. He sold the Gold Wheaton Group in 2011 for $1 billion. Prior to this, the “Northern Orian Resources Inc.” was sold in 2007 for $1.5 billion.
