Yuto Horigome is a 23 years old professional skateboarder who was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. He started skateboarding at the age of seven and later at the age of fourteen he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue his career in skateboarding. He started competing in various skateboarding pro tours in America including Tampa Am and Dew Tour. He also participated in various filming parts. In 2015, he finished 2nd at the Wild In The Parks skate contest in Los Angeles.

 He also filmed various skating parts with fellow skateboarder Micky Papa. In 2019, Horigome joined the Blind Skateboards team. However, in the May of 2019 he left Blind Skateboards and joined April Skateboards, which is owned by professional skater Shane O’Neill. Horigome was with April Skateboard when he turned professional. In June of 2019, with an impressive 62,480 points, Horigome was ranked second in men’s street on the World Skate’s World Skateboarding Olympic Rankings. He maintained his second position in men’s ranking in 2021 as well.

In the 2020 Summer Olympics, Horigome won the gold medal in the Inaugural Olympics men’s street event. He was the first person to achieve such a feat. In men’s skateboarding World Championship, Horigome won a silver medal for Japan in 2019 and a gold medal in 2021 World Championship. He also won a gold medal in the 2019 and 2022 skating competition X Games.

Horigome has earned the title of ‘Skater of the Year’ at the Japan Action Sports Award two times in a row (2017 – 2018). He secured a 1st position at the Street League Skateboarding in 2022 and 2nd position at the Dew Tours. He also managed to get a 1st position at the ISO Henan Championship in 2019.

He is featured in 2017 film ‘For Days’ which was sponsored by Blind and he also appeared in April Skateboards ‘Pro Part – Nike SB’ in 2019.
