Bradley was born to Alicia Jones-Bradley and Avery Bradley Sr. on November 26, 1990, in Tacoma, Washington. He has a younger brother, an elder sister, two older brothers, and one older sister. Bradley continued to have a close relationship with his father, whose job brought him all over the country, even after the two got divorced in 2001 and Bradley moved in with his mother. Before the start of his eighth grade year, in the summer of 2004, he and his family moved to Tacoma from Texas. The Boston Celtics selected Bradley with the 19th overall choice in the 2010 NBA Draft. The NBA Development League’s Maine Red Claws received Bradley on January 14, 2011, and he made his club debut the following day, playing 21 minutes and scoring 11 points.
