Hans Zimmer Early Life
Zimmer at a young age used to play piano at home and used to take piano lessons. He went to Ecole D’Humanite an international boarding school. In London, he attended Hurtwood House school, and he was influenced by Ennio Morricone, which inspired him to become a composer.

Zimmer started his career by playing keyboard and synthesizers in 1970 in the band Krakatoa. He worked with Buggles a new band and can be seen in their music video “Video Killed the Radio Star”. In 1976, he worked for the Italian band Krisma. He was a synthesist for their third album. Zimmer worked for Helden and later was a part of the Spanish group Mecano for their live performances in 1984. In 1985 he did work on the album Oil & Gold.
In 1980, he co-produced History of the World, Part 1. Zimmer wrote jingles for Air-Edel Associates. In 1980 he partnered with Stanley Myers. Some of the films on which they worked together are Moonlighting, Success Is the Best Revenge, Insignificance, and My Beautiful Laundrette. Zimmer’s first solo was Terminal Exposure for which he wrote songs. In 1987 he produced the film The Last Emperor which won the Academy Award for Best Original Score. His most notable work was the theme song of the game show Going for Gold. In 1988 Zimmer wrote a song for the movie Rain Man and Berry Levinson was so impressed by hearing the song that he hired him to score Rain Man.
Zimmer’s score was nominated for the Academy Award and Rain Man won four Academy Awards in 1989. After a year he was again called to score for Bruce Beresford’s movie which again won Academy Award. In 1993 he wrote the theme for the movie True Romance. In 1992 Zimmer traveled to Africa to play African drums to score. After seeing his work Walt Disney approached him to compose for their hit movie The Lion King in 1994.
In the 2000s, Zimmer composed some Hollywood blockbuster movies such as Gladiator, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and many more. He co-produced the song for the TV series The Bible. He has done a lot of work and is successful in this career.
