Early Life
Howard was born on 16 December 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska. Buffett was raised in Omaha with his two siblings, Peter, his younger brother, and Susan, his older sister. He has always taken an active role in charities, politics, agriculture, conservation, and business. In 1977, he started farming in Tekamah, Nebraska. His father later paid $760,000 for the property and he was charged rent. Howard went to Augustana College for his higher studies. Later he graduated from the University of California Irvine.

Howard G. Buffett has never been content to rely solely on the fame and wealth of his father. Howard has held positions on the boards of directors for a number of businesses and organizations. These include the Lindsay Corporation, the GSI Group, and Archer Daniels Midland Company. He joined the board of directors of Lindsay Corporation in 1995 and held the position of chairman from 2002 to 2003. Howard stepped down from his position in 2010. He has been the President of Buffett Farms and a director of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. Since December 9, 2010, Howard G. has served as a director of The Coca-Cola Company. He was a director of Coca-Cola Enterprises, the biggest Coca-Cola bottler in the world, from 1993 to 2004. Buffett also held the position of County Commissioner in Nebraska’s Douglas County from 1989 until 1992.
