Johan was born on 25 April, 1947. His father encouraged him to play football and he used to play with his friends and older brother. After his father’s death, Johan’s mental health was disturbed. His second father was the key to his career.

Johan joined Ajax on his 10th birthday. When he joined Ajax, he played baseball but after 15 he quit baseball. He played his first debut on 15 November, 1964 and scored only one goal. He scored 2 goals in DWS and made his name in the 1965-66 season. Johan scored 25 goals in 23 games and Ajax won the league. In the 1966-67 season Ajax again won the league championship and they won again in the next season. During the 1969-1970 season, he won his second league. He used to wear number 14 and has a documentary on himself named Number 14 Johan Cruyff. In 1971, Ajax won the European Cup and was named European Footballer of the Year. In 1972, Ajax again won European Cup.
Johan was sold to Barcelona for 6 million guilders. In 1973, he played his last match for Ajax. He helped Barcelona win La Liga for the first time and Barcelona fans were proud of him. Johan retired in 1978 and lost most of his money he moved his family to the U.S. he signed a deal with Los Angeles Aztecs and after one season he was voted NASL Player of the Year. Johan again signed a deal for Ajax and then in the 1982-1983 season, he scored a famous goal. He played 48 matches and scored 33 goals in international games. He never lost any game. In the 1974 World Cup, he led the Netherlands to a runner-up medal. In 1977 he had his retirement from international football.
