Mary and Robert Schnatter gave birth to Schnatter in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on 23 November 1961. He graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1980 and Ball State University with a business degree in 1983. Robert Schnatter shared ownership of the Jeffersonville bar Mick’s Lounge in the 1980s.
