Kareem Burke is an American film producer, rapper and record producer. He is best known for co-founding Roc-A-Fella Records as silent partneralong with Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Damon “Dame” Dash. He also co-founded Rocawear clothing brand in 1999 and Roc-a-fella subsidiary ROC Films.

Roc-a-fella Records took a start as an independent hip hop record label and music management company. It was officially incorporated in New York on 8 January 1996.The music label reached the height of prominence during 2000-2005. The label produced Jay Z’s first independent album. It also represented several big names: The Notorious B.I.G., Camp Lo, Da Ranjahz, Sauce Money, Jaz-O and Memphis Bleek. Later, became a division of Def Jam Records in 1997. In 2013, label became defunct. It has a subsidiary named ROC Films which produced movies such as Streets Is Watching (1998), Backstage (2000), State Property (2002), Paid in Full (2002), Paper Soldiers (2002), Death of a Dynasty (2003), Fade to Black (2004), State Property 2 (2005).

Burke executive produced the film ‘O.G.’ for HBO on February 23, 20192018. Biggs announced on social media an Emmy nomination for documentary film ‘It’s a Hard Truth, Ain’t It’ in August 2020. Burke co-directed and executive produced the project which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.
