The daughter of an Irish mother, Bridget, and an English father, Pete Taylor, Taylor was born on July 2, 1986 in Bray, County Wicklow. Taylor attended Bray’s St. Kilian’s Community School from 1999 until 2005. The same school was attended by her three elder siblings. She participated in females’ Gaelic football and camogie with her local GAA clubs, Bray Emmets and Fergal sags, in addition to boxing and association football at her school.

She belonged to the neighborhood athletic organization Bray Runners, and while she was still a student at St. Killian’s, numerous American institutions reportedly offered her sports scholarships.
