Luan is born on 22 September 1990 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He started skateboarding at a small age even before his 10th birthday. He started playing in the championship when he turned 18th.

Luan started playing for team Brazil. He first played for Street League on skateboard street and stood second. First, he had no chance of qualifying for the match but in the last, he did a nollie backside flip which helped him in qualifying for the finals. He secured a spot in the semi-finals along with Nyjah Huston, Ryan Decenzo, Ryan Sheckler, and Chaz Ortiz. In the finals, Luan lost to Nyjah Huston and Ryan Sheckler stood third. Luan secured 2nd position. In 2015, Luan joined the Tampa Pro championship which is the most important street skateboarding championship. He won the Tampa Pro 2 times and won the second stage of the Street League. Later, he won the third stage in New Jersey, he won the bi-championship and Brazilian debutant.
Luan won a silver medal in Oslo 2019. He participated in the X Games and represented Brazil there. In 2011 Los Angeles he won silver, in 2013, he won a bronze and in 2014 Austin he won silver again. In 2013, Luan started playing in Street League Skateboarding. In the same year, he won bronze for Munich Germany, New Jersey United States, Los Angeles United States, and the Portland United States. In 2014, he won silver for the Chicago United States. In 2015, he won Bronze in Chicago, Gold in New Jersey, and Los Angeles. In 2016 he won silver in Munich Germany Street League Skateboarding. In 2013 he won the Maloof Money Cup event held in South Africa and the Tampa Pro. For qualifying for the Street League in 2014 he won a silver medal along with Nyjah Houston. Luan in 2018 won the BATB against Chris Joslin.
