Shonda Rhimes Early Life

Shonda was born on 13 January 1970 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. in the house of Vera P. who was a college professor and Ilee Rhimes, Jr who worked as administrator at university.  She was youngest among her six siblings(two brothers and three sister). She received her early education from Marian Catholic High School, Chicago, Illinois. She opted for Film studies as her major and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1991.

From the platform of Shondaland another successful drama “How to Get Away with Murder” was produced (2014-20), spotlighting politics. In 2016, she also authored a book “Year of Yes : How to Dance it Out, Stand in the Sun and Be Your Own Person”.

Afterwards, she produced “The Catch” (2016), “Still Star- Crossed” (2017) and “For The People” (2018). “Bridgerton” (2020) was debut of Shonda Rhimes after she inked a $150 million agreement with Netflix in 2017 for five years. In 2022 she set up “inventing Anna” a mini series.
