Dennis A. Muilenburg is an American engineer, business executive, former president, and CEO of The Boeing Company. He was CEO of the company from 2015 to 2019 but was later fired after two crashes of the 737 MAX. In 2018 Dennis was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Dennis A. Muilenburg was born in 1964 in Orange City, Lowa, the U.S. He went to Sioux Center High School in 1982. He went to Lowa State University and got a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. Later he went to the University of Washington for a master’s degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Dennis started working at Boeing in 1985 as an intern. He was appointed to a position in management and engineering. Later he became the vice president of Boeing company. He was also a program manager for the Army Future Combat system. Dennis became the president and CEO of Boeing Defence, Space & Security in 2009. He held this position till 2015. In 2013 he became the president of Boeing and in 2015 it was announced that he will become the CEO of Boeing. It was said that Dennis will be made 20 16 the chairman of Boeing. In 2019 due to the crashes many airlines grounded the Boeing 737 MAX 8 and president Trump spoke to Dennis himself. Later Dennis was removed from the role of chairman and in November 2019 he said that he will not take any bonus due to the criticism he faced after the crashes. In December Dennis resigned from Boeing. 

Dennis faced a lot of criticism after the crashes of the planes. Many people lost their loved ones and were angry at the company for keeping Dennis. When he resigned from Boeing people said that he should have been fired after his poor performance which almost killed 346 people. A man Michael Stumo lost her daughter in the crash and Zipporah Kuria lost her father. Many statements were given against him. In 2011 Dennis joined Caterpillar Inc. but he resigned from the board in 2020 and was told that it was not because of the disagreement.
