Boras Early Life
Boras, the son of a dairy farmer, was born on 2 November 1952 in Sacramento and raised in Elk Grove, California. The famous University of the Pacific awarded Boras a doctorate in pharmacy in the years 1977. After finishing his playing career, Boras went back to the University of the Pacific, where he received his J.D. in 1982 from the McGeorge School of Law. After graduating from law school, Boras worked as an associate in the Chicago office of Rooks, Pitts & Post.

In terms of offensive categories, Boras was among the top 10 in school history as of 2009. The baseball team’s “Most Improved Player” award is named in Boras’ honor and he was inducted into the Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995. Boras played a total of 4 seasons of minor-league baseball with the team of St. Louis Cardinals and another team of Chicago Cubs franchises after his college. After being selected for the 1976 Florida State League All-Star team, Boras’ career was cut short by knee issues, and he retired with a hitting average of 288.
