Keller was born on 21 July 1957 in the metropolitan city of Pasadena, Texas, United States. His parents were both school teachers. Before starting formal education, he tried his luck in music as a career. After facing failure in their music career, he joined Baylor University in the city of Waco, Texas. He became interested in real estate and insurance degree programs after shadowing certain professionals in the field. He graduated in 1979. Keller is married to Mary Keller and has a son named john. They live together in Austin.
Gary Career
During campus placement interviews he secured a job at a real-estate firm in Austin city. He started his career in 1979 by moving to Austin. He sold five houses in his first month alone. Gary began stepping his career ladder rungs quickly becoming Vice President at the firm within 5 years of joining. In 1983, he started two companies in collaboration with Joe Williams. One that was headed by Joe was named Keller Williams Commercial. The other one was headed by Keller named Keller Williams Realtors. The commercial company faced failure which made Gary create a division in his residential company in 1987 with the name Keller Williams Realty International.
The company became a huge success in a span of two years. Due to expansion, it became the largest real estate franchise in terms of agent count in North America. He began transitioning Keller Williams to a technology company. He introduced several ventures such as KW Labs, KW Keller Cloud, Kelle-virtual assistant based on artificial intelligence through an application, and a referral tool platform for agent-to-agent transfer known as Referrals. Keller himself serves as the Executive Chairman of KWx, which is an umbrella company that oversees all Keller Williams affiliate companies. In addition to that, he also serves as CEO of Keller Williams Realty after the dismissal of John Davis following the sexual misconduct scandal.
He also founded venture capital firm Keller Capital. Apart from that, Gary is an amazing writer and has authored four national best-seller business books.
