Hila Klein was born Hila Hacmon on 12 December, 1987 in Holon, Israel. She studied in Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Israel. Her father is of Libyan-Jewish descent whereas her mother is of Turkish-Jewish descent. She has a brother named Moses Hacmon, who is a photographer. She worked in the Israeli Defense Forces through which she met her husband Ethan Klein in 2007 while visiting Holocaust Yad Vashem Museum in Israel. They got married in October 2012. She has two sons namely Theodore and Bruce, born in June 2019 & February 2022 respectively.

- Gone but not forgotten-sweater controversy
In November 2021, Teddy Fresh was accused of copying pattern from an old knitting book of Gary Kennedy which a Reddit user saw at a thrift store. Since the dinosaur design was submitted by a former Teddy Fresh employee who was not working there at the time of controversy , so Hila was unaware of the fact that the design is not original.
