Dany Garcia was born on 29 November 1968 in Belleville, New Jersey, United States. She was born to Cuban immigrants, but later moved to Miami, Florida. In 1992, she earned her Bachelor’s of Business administration from University of Miami with a major in international marketing and finance. She has a brother named Hiram Garcia & a sister.

She began her career by working at Merrill Lynch, then went on to creating her own wealth management firm in 2002 called JDM Partners LLC. She was AVP at ML & CEO at her own firm, when her husband Dwayne asked her to manage him after their divorce in 2008. Her first ever production was Meryl Streep starred documentary Theater of War in 2008. In 2012, she co-founded Seven Bucks Productions with Johnson; since then, the company has produced massive movie hits like Baywatch, Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle, Jumanji: The Next Level, Hobbs & Shaw, Rampage, Jungle Cruise, and Skyscraper-all starring Dwayne Johnson.
