He was born in 1981 in Marseille, France. At the age of 11, he started rapping, and releasing mixtapes and he even appeared on local concerts.He worked with various groups and producers over time and he officially made a name for himself when he was featured on Psy 4 de la Rime’s album called ‘Block Party’. In 2004, he was signed by 361 Records and in 2005 he released his debut album titled ‘Les derniers seront les premiers’ (The Last will be the First).

The album was distributed by Naïve Records. He was the first Marseille artist to be signed on by an independent Paris Label ‘Six-O-Nine’. Although his first album was a success, his second album released in 2007 solidified his career. The album was titled ‘Mentalite pirate’ (Pirate attitude) and it features some of his famous tracks such as ‘L’envie de vaincre’ (the desire to conquer) ‘Fleur fanee’ (Faded flower) and ‘Entre deux flammes’ (Between the two flames). His third album was called ‘Effet miroir’ (Mirror Effect) and was released in 2010. The album reached 20^th place in French Chart. L’Algerino is currently signed to Sixonine record label.
